Jesse James was born in Clay County, Missouri on 5th September, 1847. His father left home as a child in search of gold in California and never returned. Jessie and his brother Frank James were brought up by their mother, Zeralda James.
He was one of history's most well known criminals. He was a vicious man and led a long life of crime. James was born September 5, 1847 in Kearny, Missouri. His father was a Baptist minister and his mother was Zerelda James. She did not work. Throughout Jamess life he had several father figures, but little guidance from his own father.
